About Us
Welcome to Samos,
the island that we love!
We are George and Titia Kontaxis, owners of Pythaïs hotel in Pythagorio.
George was born on Samos and spent most of his youth on the beautiful island. After his study at The Ohio State University and a number of years working as a Physical Education teacher in the States, he decided to follow his heart and go back to his birth island. He had always dreamed about having his own watersports business, and there was no doubt in his mind about the exact spot for this place.
That is how he opened his Wind & Water watersports business on Pythagorio beach in 2003. You will find more information about our watersports business on the Wind & Water website: www.windandwater.gr.
Titia was born in the Netherlands and has had a passion for Greece for most her life. When she first came to Samos in 1997, she knew there was something "special" about this island. Meeting George on one of her holidays to her favorite island made her decision to move there very easy.
Together with our 2 sons we live in the hotel, so that we are always close to our guests. We are happy and proud to run the family hotel, that has been operated by George's parents for so many years. We would like to meet you in our hotel in the beautiful village of Pythagorio.
